June 22, 2025, which will consist of a soundscape of synth and a day to last a lifetime, is certainly a day for music lovers nationwide to mark in their calendars, as Milton Keynes poises itself for the one (and only) day long post punk festival, a festival which will amend rifts from the past and connect those who attend with the heart racing atmosphere of live alternative music.

Picture this; a lineup of the genre’s big names from Kraftwerk to Billy Idol enter the stage, lights blaring and the crowd roaring, as ages young and old come together to embrace the pioneers of the post-punk genre. This festival isn’t just live music; it’s a celebration of the culture and community that ricocheted the foundations of music.
Taken from the name of The Psychedelic Furs 1982 album, Forever Now Festival promises to restore post-punk to the heart of the nation and the people that make it. The Cult, who will revive their original band name of Death Cult, is a gentle nod to the fans who have been there from the beginning, while The The are set to do a rare live performance, as well as Peter Murphy of Bauhaus who guarantees an outstandingly haunting live performance. Festivalgoers can expect to hear the gritty tones of The Jesus and Mary Chain, and the modern punk sleaze of She Wants Revenge, as well as a whole other lineup of legendary alternative musicians who simply cannot be missed. In addition to the main stage is the Echo Chamber, a cultural stage curated by John Robb and Eugene Butcher, which will host a number of discussions, interviewers, and other star-studded appearances from the likes of Mark Burgess of The Chameleons, and Rat Scabies of The Damned – who will also play this iconic festival.
Hosted in the beautiful and celebrated venue of the National Bowl in the heart of Milton Keynes, this outdoor crescent-shape venue promises an outstanding view of the stage, regardless of if you’re standing or seated, which presents itself a perfect venue to host such a culturally significant festival. The amphitheatre of sound to be, is situated in a place rich with alternative culture and musical links, establishing it as a key location of the countercultural movement – making it a pure counterpart to accompany the Forever Now Festival. Located closely to London, there are several ways to travel to the festival, including by train (Milton Keynes Central train station), and through the Big Green Coach company, who have numerous pick-up points from across the country – directly to the Bowl. For more information on transport and how to get there, head to the festival’s website, at www.forevernowfestival.co.uk.
Forever Now is not just a festival, it offers something rare. It offers a multi-generational appeal, and the chance for festivalgoers to either be bathed in nostalgia, or the chance to discover their new favourite artist, and see those who changed music as we know it. Through cassettes and hand-me-down records, it all leads to Forever Now Festival, and a legacy which will remain forever. It may not last forever, but for one day in June, Forever Now will come pretty close to it.
Tickets can be purchased directly through the festival and their promoter AEG, or through See Tickets, Ticketmaster, and AXS. For the full lineup, accessibility information, as well as general queries, and information on how to get there, head to www.forevernowfestival.co.uk.
